Quinz congratulates its Dispute Resolution and Corporate & M&A practices on their excellent rankings in the Chambers Global 2022 guide.
Dispute Resolution: Band 2
Our Dispute Resolution practice moves up the ranking from Band 3 to Band 2, and is described by Chambers as “a strong Belgian firm advising clients on a range of contentious mandates relating to contract breaches, shareholder disputes and construction litigation. The team also offers experience handling collective actions and matters relating to liability. Lawyers at the firm frequently act for clients from the financial services, energy and software industries, as well as public institutions. Team members also have experience representing clients in CEPANI and ICC arbitration proceedings.”
Benoit Allemeersch reaffirms its top ranking (Band 1) for Dispute Resolution and is now ranked as Band 2 for Arbitration. He is lauded by one client for his "profound knowledge of legal matters, and how to interpret and implement them," as well as his "superb communication skills." According to Chambers, he is “a leading figure in the Belgian litigation market, advising multinational clients on collective actions, shareholder disputes and post-M&A litigation. Chambers also pays attention to his “growing presence in arbitration, acting as both counsel and arbitrator on ICC and CEPANI proceedings and advising on the enforcement of arbitral awards.”
A special congratulations to Géraldine Scraeyen, who enters the rankings this year as "Up and Coming" on the back of client admiration, with one describing her as "very dedicated, reliable and thorough," and adding that she offers "a no-nonsense, pragmatic and targeted approach."
Corporate and M&A: Band 5
Our Corporate and M&A practice has been ranked as Band 5, and is, according to Chambers, “a prominent Belgian firm with a respectable presence in the corporate market. The team advises on a full range of mandates, including the establishment of joint ventures, cross-border public transactions and private equity investments. Lawyers at the firm frequently act on behalf of clients in the life sciences, financial services and technology sectors.”
Bart Lintermans, moving up the ranking to Band 3, is lauded by clients for being "very focused on the detail, with a commercial mindset and always pushing to make sure timelines are met." He is experienced assisting with a wide range of mandates, including M&A transactions and joint venture agreements.
Klaas Thibaut (individually ranked as Band 4) is picked out by clients for his "very strong combination of academic and practical skills." Klaas advises clients on a broad range of multinational transactions in various sectors.
